Product Description:
MAPP gas is a colorless gas in both its liquid and gas forms. It gives off an obvious smell of acetylene or fishy when the concentration is higher than 100 parts per million (ppm). This odour is due to the addition of substituted amines as polymerization inhibitor. Low molecular weight alkynes have a very strong odour. If breathed in high concentrations, MAPP gas is known to be toxic.
MAPP gas is a mixture of various hydrocarbons, such as methyl acetylene, propadiene, and propane. It generates relatively hot flames (2,976°C) and releases high heat (15,445kJ/m3) from the main flame (inner cone) which is lower than acetylene (18,890kJ/m3) and much higher than propane (10,433kJ/m3). The secondary flame (outer cone) also releases high heat in the same manner as propane and natural gas. The lower flame temperature and more dispersed heat source compared to acetylene result in a greatly reduced perforation time.
Features:
This product has some great physical properties. For instance, it has an extremely high combustion temperature of 3600°F. What's more, it has a long burning time of 3 hours and 5 minutes. It has been designed with a scientific mixing ratio and good flame characteristics, enabling it to deliver an effective welding result in a shorter time. When the temperature is 20 degrees Celsius, the pressure is 110 psig, and its diameter is 72mm, with 275mm in height and 890g in gross weight, making it convenient for hand welding and carrying. Last but not least, it comes in a disposable steel cylinder with a safety valve on the cylinder body, which further ensures its safety and reliability.
